Gilad Lorberbaum, General Manager.

Gilad joined NanoCyte in May 2002, after 10 years of life science business management positions including, business development at Teva Pharmaceutical Industries headquarters (NasdaqNM: TEVA), venture capital management, and biotech start-up founder position. Gilad holds an MBA degree from the University of Hartford CT, USA, and a Bachelors degree in economics from the Hebrew University, Jerusalem, Israel.


Tamar Lotan PhD, Founder and President.

Dr. Lotan is a specialist in molecular biology and biochemistry, her research led to a breakthrough in the understanding of the key regulatory network that determines embryo development. Dr. Lotan was head of R&D in Nidaria Technology Ltd., and had conducted clinical trials in Israel. Dr. Lotan’s research was published in Cell and other leading scientific journals, and she is the inventor of 10 patents and patent applications.


Shimon Eckhouse PhD, Founder, and Chairman of the Board.

Dr. Eckhouse was a Founder, Chairman and CEO of ESC Medical from inception to flotation (Nasdaq: LUEM).
Dr. Eckhouse holds a PhD degree in Physics from UC Irvine. He has more than 20 registered patents, and had published more than 50 papers in leading refereed journals and conferences. Dr. Eckhouse serves as Board member and Chairman in a several private and public life science companies. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Technion Israeli Institute of Technology.

Jane E. Shaw, Ph.D., Advisor

Dr. Shaw, currently the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of Aerogen, has held a variety of scientific and management positions at ALZA Corporation from 1970 to 1994, most recently as President and Chief Operating Officer from 1987 to 1994. Dr. Shaw was a founder and consultant of the Stable Network, a consulting company that focuses on improving the productivity and profitability of biopharmaceutical companies, from 1994 to 1998. She serves on the Board of Directors of McKesson Corporation, Intel Corporation and Boise Cascade Corporation. Dr. Shaw received a B.S. and a Ph.D. in Physiology from Birmingham University in England.


Howard I. Maibach, MD., Scientific Advisor

Prof. Maibach is a professor of Dermatology at the USCF School of Medicine as of 1973. Dr. Maibach has extensive research and publications on dermatotoxicology and dermatopharmacology. His current research programs include defining the chemical-biologic faces of irritant dermatitis and the study of percutaneous penetration.
Formerly an Assistant Professor at the University of Pennsylvania, School of Medicine,
Dr. Maibach has been on the editorial boards of over 30 scientific journals and is a member of 19 professional societies including the American Academy of Dermatology, San Francisco Dermatological Society, and the International Commission on Occupational Health.


Shayne Cox Gad, Ph.D., D.A.B.T, Pre-clinical and Toxicology Consultant

Dr. Gad, toxicologist and statistical consultant, has over 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. Dr. Gad is experienced in development programs (both preclinical and clinical), study design, evaluating clinical and product safety data, dealing with U.S. and foreign regulatory bodies, and Material Safety Data Sheets, MAA/PLA/IND/NDA toxicology summaries. A past president of the American College of Toxicology and the Roundtable of Toxicology Consultants, Dr. Gad has published 26 books, 48 independent chapters and more than 250 papers and abstracts on the above fields.


Shlomo Magdassi, Ph.D.

Prof. Magadssi is an Associate Professor of Applied Chemistry at the Casali Institute of Applied Chemistry, The Hebrew University of Jerusalem.He was Chairman of the studies in Applied Chemistry, and served on the International Advisory Boards of several conferences in the field of Colloid and Interface Science. Prof. Magdassi has written over 80 papers, edited two books, and is assigned to more than 30 patents and patent applications.
